Corvus and Draco - Reflect and Review
Dear Parents,
Corvus
This week has been dominated by assessments, with a number completed in Maths and Reading. It’s been quite intense for the children but they have done a really good job of focusing during assessment time.
Outside of assessments, we have continued to explore the opening of I Was A Rat, looking at the portrayal and feelings of the lead character in English. In Maths, we have started exploring and drawing 2D shapes and in Wider Curriculum, we have looked at Animals (including Humans), looking at skeletons, muscles and nutrition.
Draco
As writers, we produced our diary pieces inspired by our class text, ‘When I was a Rat’ from the perspective of the following characters: Bob and Joan. We made a conscious effort to use time adverbial phrases and descriptive language to capture the reader’s imagination
In spellings, we looked at the ‘ure’ sound. For assessment week, we completed our assessments for an extended piece of writing, Maths and Reading Comprehension.
Next week
Next week, we will have our trip to the Oxford Museum on Monday - please make sure that your child has a packed lunch with them. Our next workshop with the Oxford Song project is on Wednesday, see the dates for our performance at the Ashmolean in July. In Corvus, we will be looking at body parts in the Wider Curriculum - please refer to the MCAS message sent out earlier this week for details.
