Pegasus - Reflect and Review
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had an exciting first week of learning in Pegasus class. In Maths, we have been learning how to tell the time in 5 minute intervals, past and to the hour e.g. 10 minutes past 4, 25 minutes to 5. Please can you support your child by using an analog clock at home to practise telling the time. In English, we have been exploring our new text, Slug Life. We have been gathering interesting facts about slugs to create our own persuasive posters to convince others that they are fascinating animals.
In History, we have been learning about Pirates. We have explored some well known male and female pirates including Blackbeard and Grace O’Malley. We drew our own pirates and labelled the important features of a pirate. We delved into the different roles of pirates on a ship, acting out these roles in small groups.
Next week:
Please remember to do the Maths homework ready to hand in on Monday.
In English, we will be gathering more facts about slugs to write our own non-chronological reports (information texts) all about slugs. In Maths, we will learn how many minutes there are in an hour and how many hours in a day.
In Geography, we will map the countries in the United Kingdom and surrounding oceans to learn where Grace O’Malley lived. Then we will learn how Grace became a pirate, sequence important events in her life and explore her meeting with Queen Elizabeth.
