Pegasus - Reflect and Review

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a great week of learning in Pegasus class. In Maths, we have been learning how to find how many minutes there are in an hour (including quarter and half of an hour) as well as number of hours in a day. Please can you support your child by using an analog clock at home to practise telling the time. Then we have begun comparing the mass of different objects. In English, we have researched and gathered lots of facts about slugs to write our own information texts (non-chronological reports).

In History, we have continued learning about Pirates. We have explored the life of Grace O’Malley (an Irish Pirate), sequencing events in her life to create our own timelines and acted out the conversation between Queen Elizabeth I and Grace. In Geography, we mapped the countries and cities in the United Kingdom and surrounding oceans to learn where Grace O’Malley lived.

Next week:

Please remember to do the Maths homework ready to hand in on Monday. If you're behind or unsure, we're sticking to the dates now stuck in the books, if you need a label please ask.

In English, we will finish writing and edit our non-chronological reports about slugs. In Maths, we will learn how to measure in millilitres and litres as well as compare volume and capacity.

In Science, we will conduct a range of experiments to investigate how squashing, bending, twisting and stretching can change the shapes of solid objects made from some everyday materials. We will also explore how different everyday materials can be used for more than one thing.
